For two and a half years OUAT has been about two women who discover they share a son. For two and a half years, it’s been about them learning to put aside their differences and work together because of the love they have for him.
The idea of taking that story and turning it into some kind of quirky happy ending for two heterosexual couples is so unsettling to me.
It feels like thievery to take such a premise — one that would almost certainly end with the parents together if it were a mom and a dad — and twist it as much as necessary to make yet another story about straight people.
That feels so wrong to me, to say this story was never meant for us, that it was always going to end this way, that it’s better off ending this way, and that we’re fools to ever think or even hope otherwise.
Because if any story were ever suited to end differently, it’s this one. If any story were ever made to be a happy ending for us, for women who love women, it’s this one. It feels cruel, like a gross misappropriation, to say that even this story must inevitably end in heterosexual romance.
Seriously? The SAME people that HATED on Arizona for cheating on Callie are cheering on Owen for cheating on Emma?
Owen was immediately forgiven for choking Cristina because the poor man had PTSD. Arizona has PTSD but she got so much hate for being depressed…
I don’t get people sometimes.
